Faith. Service. Simplicity.
At Christ the King Service Corps, our volunteers come from around the country to live and work together in a community of faith. Explore this site to see if a term of service with CKSC could be the next exciting chapter in your life!
Faith. Christ the King Service Corps is directly connected to
Christ the King Catholic Church in Detroit. Service corps members attend weekly mass, pray as a community, attend retreats and have the option of spiritual direction through the church.
Service. As volunteer teachers, community organizers or case workers, CKSC members work full time jobs and gain valuable experience while serving a community in need. Experienced mentors and on-the-job training provide volunteers with the support they need to succeed.
Simplicity. CKSC volunteers live simply and intentionally in a community house in Northwest Detroit. All living arrangements are taken care of, and each member earns a small monthly stipend for personal spending. Together, the volunteers enjoy the freedom of simple living, and the generosity of Christ the King parishioners who often invite the corps members for a home-cooked meal or an adventure around town!
